Maybe I need to drop the .cfg?? For example, to allow easy access to the console each time you start Doom 3, change the target line to the following: "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +set com_allowconsole 1 Note that there I play it late at night with all the lights off and the volume cranked up. These methods are detailed below: The Doom 3 Console The console is the closest you can get to having direct real-time access to Doom 3's engine. http://steamcommunity.com/app/9050/discussions/0/828937545908488699/

Doom 3 is currently languishing in it's box, until I work up some enthusiasm again for wandering around in the dark jumping at the slightest sound. You're original idea would

Glad that's come to a happy resolution anyway. Doom 3 Resolution Fix I deleted the AutoExec.cfg but it still isn't working. The thing with them being the other way round of course is just alphabetical order but the opposite of what we normally use. Note the spacing - none between the plus signs and command, but a single space between each separate command.
thats what the console is for I guess LOL I'll try out your config file once I beat vanilla. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/469881-doom-3/50937588 Search User Find More Posts by wazups 2x Find Threads by wazups 2x 08-17-2010, 12:10 PM #6 DOOMJESUS Banned Join Date: May 2010 Reputation: 40 Posts: 852 Quote: Originally Doom 2016 Custom Resolution The first promising solution based on the information I found was to open the DoomConfig.cfg file (located in the doom 3/base directory) with a text editor, find the lines for seta Doom 4 Custom Resolution Just to be clear the settings in my AutoExec aren't changing but the settings in the orginal cfg are which isn't a big issue if it would be using my AutoExec

When this file is there, D3 shouldn't do any auto-configuration anymore. Doom 3 Resolution Won't Change
Ironically Doom 3 was panned by critics as not being as good as the originals. The orginal config file keeps changing a few things. Now you know how to apply command variables in the Doom 3 engine, as I mentioned before, there is no single way which is the "best way". http://sevevb.com/doom-3/doom-3-not-working.html However, I suggest that you use the in-game console to try some commands and what effect they have on the game, and then you can insert them into your AutoExec.cfg file
I still play it regularly. Steam Doom Launch Options So tweaking command variables means you can further customize the engine to run at its best on your particular setup. Otherwise I am using your settings.
I play it late at night with all the lights off and the volume cranked up. With this newer hardware, I knew I'd have no problems running Doom 3 on "Ultra" with fast framerates. It's already there: "DoomConfig.cfg file located in your Doom 3/base folder". #13 Lilmanroachyd View Profile View Posts 31 May, 2013 @ 11:41am This discussion is dead I have Doom 3 uninstalled Doom 3 Custom Resolution Otherwise I am using your settings.
A simple way is, that you put the Cfars you need in your autoexec.cfg r_mode -1 r_aspectRatio 2 r_customHeight XXXX (or your desired Height resolution) r_customWidth XXXX (your desired Widht resolution) This is the right way for the autoexec.cfg Code: seta r_mode -1 seta r_aspectRatio 1 //(0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = 16:10) seta r_customHeight 768 //(Your screen height) seta I'll have to give it a shot lol TheHunter says thanks. check over here When I tried sikkmod before I couldn't get all the glowing textures and stuff to turn off so I was put off by it.
Mine is named autoexec.cfg and I didn't have to use any commands to make it work. I changed a few settings, here is what I did (using autoexec.cfg to implement the changes) Spoiler seta r_mode -1 seta r_aspectRatio 1 //(0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = For example, I name 1 file "autoexecwide.cfg" and the other "autoexecreg.cfg" and have them activated by changing the shortcut to something like.... ""C:Program FilesGamesDoom 3Doom3.exe" +set autoexecreg.cfg" or ""C:Program FilesGamesDoom 3Doom3.exe" But they're both off atm, kinda demanding in extreme scenarios, at least for my oc'ed 580gtx.
Especially that NiukNiuk all in one pre-modded with sikkmod1.2 and all extra textures pack.
