Fixed it, but since I use Delicious on a regular basis so will miss functionality. Make sure that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode. If not, see this:

Also it used to work for searching in the Google web page search box. I did a search in IE HELP for "autocomplete" and "auto complete" but I found no information with regard to turning that option off. Hardware acceleration is disabled.

However, you can make this even easier by enabling the Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses setting on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options dialog box. Normally, when I open Internet Explorer (version 8) on my Vista SP2 PC , I can click on the down arrow on the address bar and it shows me past locations The AutoComplete still doesnt work. If you clear this check box, AutoComplete won't save any passwords and you will need to manually type in the password even though AutoComplete will fill in the user name. I deselected it and the address bar is back to working normal again.
