Drupal 6 Jquery Update Not Working


I have a script using jQuery 1.5.1 . Once the cache has been flushed, you have to go back to the jQuery Update settings page and press Submit to get the replacement files working again. This only occurs on the front page. I tried to change the code of drupal_to_js() function from return str_replace(array('<', '>', '&'), array('\u003c', '\u003e', '\u0026'), json_encode($var)); to just return json_encode($var); After that ajax requests work fine. The other pages are fine (I havent checked all, but it works fine in nodes). Although when I was logged in on the production website, it still used an old jQuery.

From what I can seen, there is a ahah.js and tabledrag.js in the replace folder of jquery_update so it should use those files. disabling/uninstalling mollom or down-grading jQuery update does not seem to help.

In case you come back here, I've provided a minimal workaround patch for this problem here #1766240-8: Option to limit Jquery Update scope to front end only. This requires that you use a different admin theme to avoid conflict with Drupal core, and it assumes that jquery-1.8.3.min.js is located in a folder called 'js' within the theme (adjust Clicking on any of the gear icons just results in a popup with a load of debug output.
