Besides mentioning this in the Sony Vegas Basics forum, I am happy to announce that my setup now works...but sheepishly, I have to admit that after I got the new Belkin Windv As far as i know, my Camcorder is "plug&play" no need to activate DV out, can at least not find anything about it in the manual. Be nice.

I still have a full copy of Windows XP which I can install as a dual boot which will be cheaper than buying a new camera. Please help I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, (and I'm already half bald...)
